A SUMMER BARN WEDDING WITH EPIC FLORAL DESIGN

When Melanie and Max’s Maquam Barn wedding ceremony popped up on my Instagram feed, I gasped. The floral archway is beyond gorgeous! The couple threw a beautiful, floral-filled barn wedding focused on celebrating with their family and friends this past summer. Highlights include the floral installations, perfect weather, and exchanging their vows privately before the ceremony.

Wedding planner Lindsey Leichthammer included peaches as a recurring detail throughout the event design. She said, “as a nod to the groom’s Georgia roots, I added whole and halved peaches into Clayton Floral’s amazing green garlands, and painted custom place cards, menus, and table numbers to include peaches as well.”

To top it all off, the couple got on stage with the band late in the evening. Florals, family, and fun… it’s a recipe for an amazing wedding. See the full gallery below.

The Bold & Beautiful

This “camp” inspired lakeside wedding designed by I Dews Design & Events was equal parts fun, beautiful, and sentimental. Their wedding incorporated nods to their family, including the groom’s grandfather’s UVM beer stein in their tablescapes.  (Photo: Obsidian)

A Celebration of Cakes

Why have one cake when you can have a whole table of them? We love this display of multiple cakes (we especially love the gold brushstroke design) by The Goose Chase Cake Designs. It creates a huge visual impact and provides a variety of flavor options for guests! (Photo: Dear Edith & Lily)

Fresh & Festive

The chandeliers, the drapery, the neon sign and the pink tufted chairs … we can’t get enough of this design by Jaclyn Watson Events. It’s classically beautiful, but with a bit of a fresh update! (Photo: Rodeo & Co)

Elegance Under the Tent

NJOY Weddings & Events created a timeless, romantic reception tent for this Hildene wedding. We especially love how the tent glows after dark from the strands of twinkling lights that highlight the tent’s drapes. Total modern romance! (Photo: Corinne Parker)

Paradise Found

We love how The Linen Shop’s neutral table liners show off the long farmhouse tables and lay the perfect backdrop for the lush greenery. Topped off with oodles of greenery and twinkling lights, and we feel like we’re in a garden paradise! (Photo: Cassi Claire)

A DIY Dream

Both wedding filmmaker Madison Anne Studio and photographer Juniper Studios highlighted this gorgeous boho wedding. The bride handmade many of the decor pieces, including the incredible crochet ceremony backdrop.

A JOYFUL OUTDOOR SUMMER WEDDING AT THE INN AT GRACE FARM

When asked what they love about each other, Sasha says she loves Tom’s giant heart, and Tom says he loves Sasha’s affectionate nature. That combined love is felt through today’s entire wedding gallery, captured by Jenna Brisson PhotographyLindsey Leichthammer Events planned the couple’s joyful celebration, hosted at the lovely The Inn at Grace Farm.

A Special Dog of Honor

The couple’s beloved senior dog, Truman, sat in perfect attendance in the first row to watch his humans tie the knot. Sasha and Tom made sure to get a few special photos with him as well! (And their signature drink was named in his honor.)

A Gorgeous Floral Seating Chart

One unique detail: the couple’s seating chart. They created an installation using a collection of bud vases with bright florals and small name tags. A small acrylic sign read: Find your seat here, but your place is on the dance floor. Guests listened, and danced under the twinkle lights all night long! THE MAGICAL, MULTICULTURAL, INDIAN WEDDING OF A VT STATE SENATOR AND SON OF A DAIRY FARMER

Senator Kesha Ram and husband Jacob Hinsdale share a deep love for Vermont, and the beauty of the state was the backdrop for their unforgettable weekend-long Indian American fusion wedding at An Affair by the Lake in Addison, Vermont.

Kesha is a Vermont Senator (she’s the youngest woman in history and the first woman of color to serve in the Vermont Senate). Jacob is a born-and-bred Vermonter, growing up on his family’s dairy farm. Their lives intersected when Kesha returned to Burlington to work on a downtown revitalization project. She was introduced to Jacob because of his mild obsession with tiny houses, and they soon found they had a lot in common. Now, the couple lives in Shelburne with their dog, Miso.

Honoring Her Indian Heritage with Special Wedding Ceremonies

Kesha is a biracial Indian American who is culturally Hindu and Jewish. Jacob is descended from French-Canadian Catholic ancestry and English Protestants. The couple wanted to honor both their cultural identities and their love of Vermont in their wedding. Lindsey Leichthammer Events helped to plan the beautiful, multicultural celebration, which included a Mehendi (henna ceremony), an Indian wedding ceremony led by a Hindu priest, a Sangeet, where family and friends performed their best Bollywood dances, and a more “conventional” American ceremony and reception on Saturday. It was also important to the couple for their celebration to be rooted in Vermont, so all of their vendors were local businesses.

“We wanted to honor and inspire our common narrative of love, family, and belonging,” says Senator Ram. The result is an inspiring, unique, beautiful celebration! See their gallery below.

A SPECTACULAR WINTER STYLED SHOOT AT A STATELY MANOR

Get ready to be wowed – today’s post is truly spectacular.

The Inn at Burklyn, a stately manor in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, stage for this elegant, winter styled shoot, led by Coryn Kiefer Photography

Elegant Tablescape with a Focus on Food

Planner and Stylist Lindsey of Lindsey Leichthammer Events says, “I am in love with how this shoot came out! My assignment was styling a beautiful tablescape; I focused on creating a crisp, clean look with silvery blues and grays. With my background in food and beverage, I love to utilize food in a design, so when I found the lemons, I had to incorporate them as place cards. Showcasing Vermont foods (like that amazing local honeycomb) is a passion of mine, so I was happy to be able to play with food for this shoot!”

Romantic Luxe Winter Floral Design Inspiration

Emily of Tipsy Tulip Designs created the lush, romantic floral design, inspired by her dream winter wedding. Her favorite detail: the gorgeous floral polls. “I wanted to give couples a fresh take on ceremony site flowers,” says Emily. “Not everyone loves an arbor, and flower poles are a great alternative. As a bonus, they are mobile. They can be used during a ceremony, and then after to flank the entrance to the reception or as a photo backdrop.”

It’s hard to overstate the beauty of this team’s work. See for yourself below!

BEST OF 2020: DESIGN AND DECOR

Wedding decor is as unique as each couple’s love story and interests, and it sets the stage for the celebration. Here are a few of the most unique and beautiful design moments from 2020 Vermont weddings.

Natural Beauty

This tablescape celebrates the natural beauty of Vermont. Small blooms pop against the light blue napkins and add a special, personal touch on each seat. The elegant glassware provides a great, delicate contrast to the stately wood tables.

Elegant Elopement

Candles and white flower petals create a simple, elegant aisle and urns spilling over with flowers create a ceremony focal point for this couple’s elopement. Their adorable dog even matches the theme with a floral collar!

Cozy Elegance

Flickering candlelight down a banquet table adorned with fall flowers creates a festive, cozy atmosphere for a small wedding celebration.

Backyard Bliss

This tented wedding is the definition of casual elegance. Small tables were set up around the sail tent to maintain social distance, but the beautiful, natural table decor makes it feel more intimate.

Beauty & The Beach

This private beachfront residence is transformed into a boho wedding venue reminiscent of a tropical oasis. A ceremony space is crafted with lanterns, bright florals and beach grasses. Oriental rugs and twinkle lights create a dance floor in the sand. Overall, it nails the tropical boho beach party vibe.

Lush & Luxe

This tented reception is beyond gorgeous. The chandeliers highlight the soft drapes of the tent and cast a warm glow on the lush, dramatic floral arrangements.
