Kristabeth Atwood, founder of Rites of Passage, has officiated dozens of weddings throughout
New England over the past twenty years, from micro-weddings and elopements to large, formal events. She have experience with a variety of ceremonies, including: religious, interfaith, secular, and spiritual-but-not-religious ceremonies.
Kristabeth loves working with couples who want a one-of-a-kind wedding ceremony!
In designing your wedding ceremony, she will get to know unique your values, traditions, and dreams. She will help you choose or write your vows and guide you in selecting readings and rituals to reflect your personal style.
At Rites of Passage, we offer wedding and elopement packages with a focus on creating a one-
of-a-kind ceremony just for you. Our packages include: personal consultations, custom-designed ceremony, draft review, and rehearsal attendance (if applicable).
Favorite Moment During a Wedding: Those little, serendipitous moments that happen during a
wedding ceremony: a special look; a tear; laughter.
Favorite Vermont Activity: Getting a hot chocolate or a maple creemee (depending on the season) and walking along the waterfront in Burlington.

Love Notes
Being a second marriage for both of us, we wanted a very intimate and unique wedding experience, which Kristabeth so masterfully provided for us! I remember our first meeting with her, she asked, what do you want to remember about the ceremony years from now? That guided every other piece of the planning. Getting married on our favorite beach with our personal story shared was so meaningful. We created the script so it was exactly what we wanted. And, yes, when I think back now on that day, what I wanted to remember from it IS what I remember. We were both incredibly happy with the whole experience!
We were looking for a simple elopement ceremony and Kristabeth put together a beautiful personalized ceremony while keeping it simple like we wanted. She provided a lot of resources and met with us several times, via video chat, to make sure everything was the way we wanted it.
We booked Kristabeth for our October wedding. Being that we live out of state, Kristabeth made it very easy to plan via video chat. She spent months getting to know us and made us very comfortable on our wedding day. She tailored our ceremony perfectly to our personalities and relationship. We were extremely happy with what she was able to create and made for a wonderful event!
