A Dreamy Vermont Farm Wedding at Lareau Farm Inn

For couples looking for an idyllic countryside wedding, Lareau Farm Inn in Waitsfield, Vermont is the perfect venue. Nestled in a picturesque Mad River Valley and surrounded by beautiful rolling hills, this charming farm is the perfect backdrop for a dreamy summer wedding. It also the birthplace of beloved Vermont staple, American Flatbread — yum!

Couple Brittany and Max had their special day at Lareau Farm Inn on a beautiful July day and Arielle Thomas Photography was there to capture every detail. Continue reading to see more photos and learn all about this colorful wedding.

A Chill Vermont Wedding in The Mad River Valley

Brittany and Max had a laidback July wedding with their closest family and friends, with a focus on having fun together.

“I loved capturing this wedding because you can tell Brittany and Max are super in love with just the way they look at each other. I guarantee their cheeks were sore from smiling so much!” says photographer Arielle Thomas.

The day was filled with sunshine, laughter and loads of high-energy dancing. (And when guests didn’t want to dance, they could easily transition to lawn games, such as corn hole!)

And we can’t overlook the small, sentimental details. Both Brittany’s  bouquet charm and ‘love dad’ embroidery on her wedding veil honored her late father so he was there in spirit. (A beautiful example of how to honor loved ones at your wedding) The table numbers during the reception also featured photos of Brittany and Max over the years.

To round out an already sweet day, The Goose Chase Cake Design created a dreamy dessert table to keep guests fueled for an evening of dancing!

Quick recap: what is Vermont Weddings Best of 2021 Series?

A little backstory if you’re unfamiliar: we started the Best of series last year (2020) to highlight some of the amazing work by the talented teams in the Vermont wedding industry. It’s an opportunity to both celebrate a year’s worth of weddings and inspire couples who are planning a future Vermont wedding. (A quick note on the word “best”: the intention isn’t to make this a competition between weddings, but to share a small, but representative, sample of the weddings in Vermont this year.  To that end, please know that we love each and every wedding that was submitted, and the final picks are carefully chosen based on a variety of factors to create a compelling series.)

Here’s what you can expect:

All December, we’ll be rolling out inspiring stories in various categories:

Plus, because the submissions were just THAT good, we’re sharing our “semi finalist” picks for each category on Instagram. That means you’ll want to follow us to see even more highlights, and come back to the blog each week to see the “best” picks in each category.

We recommend signing up for our newsletter – we’ll send you an email each week with the highlights so you won’t miss a thing. (Going forward we only send 1 – 2 emails a month.)

A BOHO WEDDING AT LAREAU FARM INN WITH AN EPIC TRASH THE DRESS SESSION

Taylor and Colby loved the idea of spending their wedding weekend with family and friends, sitting around a fire singing, and enjoying the beauty of Vermont. They chose Lareau Farm Inn in Waitsfield as their homebase for the weekend, and planned a variety of activities for guests including yoga and a swim before their rehearsal dinner (which featured the Inn’s famous American Flatbread pizza).

The main event itself was both gorgeous and fun (check out all the beaming smiles and heartfelt tears in this gallery). “We wanted our wedding to fit our personalities,” says Taylor. The couple wrote their own vows, designed ceremony readings, and completed a tree planting ritual. Taylor says, “It was full of laughs and tears!” Aesthetically, their design was casual, boho elegance, with lots of homemade touches and wildflowers.

Epic Trash the Dress Day After Wedding Photoshoot at a Swimming Hole

The day after their wedding, the couple did an amazing photo shoot with intimate newlywed portraits and an epic “trash the dress” style photos at Warren Falls.

They also took a number of photos at the Inn, which are such a sweet portrait of their newlywed bliss.

THIS BESPOKE PICNIC WEDDING AT LAREAU FARM IS GIVING US MAJOR SPRING VIBES

Like many couples planning a wedding in 2020, Kaleigh and Nate went through a few different ideas for their wedding. Ultimately, the couple landed on the idea of hosting a bespoke picnic wedding at Lareau Farm Inn with fifteen guests.

A Picnic Vision Come to Life

Kaleigh says they were going for a “magical-river-Downton Abbey-style picnic” in their vision, and we think they nailed it! Blankets were carefully scattered across the Inn’s lovely lawn, providing places for guests to sit and congregate, while maintaining social distancing. In keeping with the theme, the couple provided parasols and picnic baskets for guests to enjoy and take home.

See more of the couple’s beautiful celebration, captured by Amanda Young Photography, below. A
